Hello fellow bassists. I'm Bob Lee, somebody else has my name so I use my dog's name. Does anybody remember the band Nektar?
I've been playing bass for 30 years or so and went the wedding band scene for a few years. New York New York is etched in my brain along with the Hokey Pokey. I've played in country bands, oldies bands, jazz bands and the big attempt at doing original music in a band we called 'The What'.
How do you tell your best friend the drummer that he can't keep time? He drove me nuts, he would get excited and speed up. I was playing whole notes yelling at him to listen to the bass!!
I have chronic cluster headaches and live on disability. Life does come at you fast. I still have a few basses that bring back memories when I play em'. My favorite bass is my EBO. I threw in an active split pickup and wired it to play in series, parallel or each half seperate. I slap that thing like a red headed step-child.
I was reading some replies to some posts and just laughed my butt off. It's almost noon and that's when I get my worst episode of pain. I look forward to getting to know some of you guys and love the sarcasm.
Bye for now,
Bob |
