Hi,
I found this forum while searching for something online and thought that it might be a good resource, as I don't know very much about the bass (but learning quickly!). My son is 7 and has been playing double bass for one year, piano for 3 years. He has wanted to play the bass since age 5 -- loves the size and the "low" sounds. At age 6, he started on a 1/10 bass and is now playing a 1/8 size with a 1/4 german bow. He is working on the Essential Elements Intermediate book, Bach for the Young Bass Player, and the Capuzzi concerto (first movement), and many other pieces for the youth orchestra he is participating in.
