Another new member; thanks to you all that have kept this forum going.

I've played music professionally for over thirty years in the SF CA Bay Area. I have been meaning to join this list for awhile. I also teach bass; bluegrass, western-swing, blues, rockabilly, or basic jazz on acoustic or electric bass. I'm teaching out of the Fifth String music store in Berkeley, and the Alameda School of Music in Alameda.

Peace.

Question Hi

Hi, i'm a new member. what is the best way to learn to read music. I mean do you spend a lot of time on one piece and memorize note for note or is it better to go on and read as much as possible even though you dont remember note for note. Thanks for your advise
