Hi all.
I used to play mostly around Southern NB (New Brunswick, not Nebraska ) several years ago, but went to Ontario for work, and ended up in a career that didn't give me the time to dedicate to playing in a band. Hard to get going when you're on call every other w/e. I did lug my rig around to every building we worked at, but never had a chance to play.
Anyway, as fate would have it, 11 years later, we came home with first daughter in tow, and restarted all over again. We now have 2 daughters, Brianna is now 6, and Alyssa is 2.5.
I've been involved in a non music related project (track building for a racing game) for the past few years, but recently met up with a former bandmate, and began to get the bug again. Unfortunaly, I sold all my gear to by PC parts for the other project, so right now I have no gear. I've been looking around at the local used shops, and on Kijiji, and I'm planning on saving a few bucks up to get a small reboot rig. Nothing elaborate, just a 4 stringer and a small amp to get my chops back. It'll be a bit weird at first, considering my former bass was a 5st fl. Unless I can find another one cheap, I'll have to start back at the beginning.
One other note, I'm an older errr... more mature person, but I started playing later in life than most might. (Very late 20's) I wanted to be a metal bassist, but as it turned out, I started playing in a Country band.
Learned a lot with that group, and we stayed together for several years through more than a few lineup changes. In the end, only myself and the drummer were original members, and he lost interest. Anway, I got into a few more bands, ranging from country to hard rock and back again. Then RL kicked in, and playing took a back seat to finding employment.
Well, enough about me, how you doin'? :lol
