New 4003 Rickenbacker member

Hi. i just registered for this forum. looks cool. as stated above i have rickenbacker 4003 with the orginal strings. i've heard great stuff about flatwounds. no string squeak, easier on the fingers, etc. tell me what you experienced players think and what brand and size you use. much appreciated.

I'm sure there are more experienced players out there than me, but I've used Rotosound Swing Bass Standard Gauge to get a nice bright, rich sound out of my 4001.
It depends on your style of playing, whether you prefer a light gauge string for fast, fluid fretwork or a slightly heavier gauge for more attack in your sound.
Also, are you a pick player or into finger technique?
