Hello, I was referred to TB by another forum. I'm 21 and live in Sydney, Australia. Music I enjoy includes Björk, Death Cab for Cutie, Weezer, Queen, Sarah Blasko, Little Birdy, The Offspring, Muse, Metallica and Franz Ferdinand, and Dethklok.
I've always had an interest in playing music. My background is classical piano but I'd love to get into playing a bit more rock. I've played a teeny bit of acoustic guitar but after looking around, I think the bass would be more for me. So I'm starting with absolutely nothing!
I'm definitely gonna read around the forums and try to learn more about this fab instrument, before I go out and get myself a bass guitar. I was contemplating the Squier Badtz-Maru Bronco Bass, but the reviews are so-so and I think I'd rather start with a bass with a 34" scale length and not 30".
Since I have no idea about things, I'm thinking I may pop into
The Bass People or
Billy Hyde Music and have a look around there. My birthday's coming up soon so I may treat myself by spending a bit more cash than I would and getting something nice.
