Hello everyone. I've been primarily into guitar for the last 15 years or so, gigged with a metal band of best friends for the better part of 5 years in the late 90's into about 01', got married in 03', didn't play much guitar at all for the next 3-4 years, and last year half way thru started playing again. Whew...........Anyway, that about sums it up. I've been involved in a comedy band with the original lead singer from my old metal band, and its a blast. We've had a great time with it as well as some great exposure and a great following so far (not much dough of course though!LOL) Anyway, my buddy and I are trying something totally different for something live. We never used to do covers, I personally hate em', but at this stage of our lives we might as well try it. We're going to mix it up though. We're bringing in a whole new cast of incredible players, and I nominated myself to play bass! There will be a vocal mic each for everyone on the stage, and everyone is capable of grabbing an axe of anysort, or even drums if the song dictates a certain change in the lineup. What a blast! Where doing much less of the common Classic Rock type of covers. More of the "Mustache Rock", if you will. Blue Oyster Cult, Blues Image, Toto, Styx, Foreigner, Kinks, Traveling Wilburries, Huey Lewis, Kenny Loggins etc. Anyway, thats my music/bass story in a nutshell, and for the record I love the P Bass!!! I'm on the search for a giggable cheapie, and within the next week. Look forward to the forum! |
