Hi guys n gals,
Greg Smith here from Gillette, WY. Played bass and baritone instruments most of my life, but am just now coming to bass guitar. I was a music major on scholarship in the early 80's playing sax in marching and jazz band and bassoon in the syphonies/orchestras. Switched over to geology as a major in 82 and didn't look back.

However, the 2 years of formal music education did me some good and I was hooked for life. I now play sax and sing bass on Praise Team at church (Weslyan). I noticed recently we have been missing our bass player most of the time. I'm going to take his spot on some songs if he doesn't get back soon!

I'm GAS'n for a thin necked Fender Geddy Lee and an Ampeg combo amp right now. I've been playing an Ibanez SR300DX...not much of a guitar, but great to learn on since fall of 2005. I'm ready to step it up!

I've already noticed the forum seems to be in love with the Geddy Lee. I'm a big guy, but my hands aren't shaped like most guitar necks yet. The old Yamaha FG-75 folk guitar has sustained me since the age of 15, but the neck has always been a bother. The Ibanez's neck was different...thin, slick, and (for me) playable. Any other suggestions on thin necked guitars?
