Hey.. My names Tom, I just picked up this Ibanez GSR190 bass kit a few weeks ago.. thought it would be a good buy, and so far it has, I'm really enjoying it and want to eventually get into 5 string, slap and all that other good stuff. Pretty glad to have stumbled onto this site ^^

You'll become more knowledgeable and understand more as you grow as a bassist by being a part of this forum. There is a wealth of information and knowledge on these boards as well as a bunch of idiots who try to get you addicted to bass gear. Don't resist, it's futile. Give in, get in debt, and enjoy your life. Welcome to TB!!!

Hah, I'm already learning all kinds of tabs.. Mostly nirvana.. some pink floyd.. uhh.. cky.. RATM even some 311. The only musical instrument i have ever played other than bass is the trumpet. I'm really feeling this though. It's pretty fun for me. I'm already anxious to buy a 5 string and a new amp. I'm nowhere near the skill level for that kind of stuff so i'm just gonna keep to easy tabs until I get the hang of fretting faster/more accurately. But thanks for the welcome everyone!

I think I taught my self the pentatonic scale.. and I forget what the other one is. But yeah, I pretty much practice tabs everyday.. for atleast an hour. Sometimes more than once a day. I can already play Come as you are.. without the distortion of course.
