New, Green, and Wet Behind the Ears!

Hey everybody, I'm a new guy who just found out about the site. At the moment, bass is an extremely new hobby for me, and I have no idea how it's going to go. As of yet, I have never even had a single lesson, and I don't know one darned chord!

So....it should be interesting to see how this goes. OK, I'm 37, and have loved rock music since I was about 6 or 7, when I first found out about KISS. I started playing drums when I was about 17, but I never really had an interest in guitars. Fast forward to now...My cousin, who is also a drummer, has been jamming with a couple of really cool guys, and they both play guitar, but there is no bass guitar in the mix, so I'm going to try to fill that slot.

Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it.

Welcome Svartsno. I'm a newbie too.

Let me tell you that's exactly how I got started with bass. The only band at school needed a bass player, and I wanted the cool factor of being in the school's band. So I begged my father to buy me a bass guitar, even if it was the cheapest POS we could find. So he did. Now here I am, 16 years later, I've recorded in some real records for some local vocalists, and been on tour hired by some of these vocalists. So I've even been considered a "pro" (although I don't). To me it's just a nice hobby.
