New Guy Saying Hi
 

Hi.

I'm new here. I've been playing bass on and off for 17 years.
It's been a love/hate relationship for a good while.
Mostly love though.

I've always been very self critical and, having the nerve to say "been playing for 17 years..." when I feel like I should be so much better at playing than I am.

However, I recently had a revelation and am starting to learn all over again, in a sense. I had taken some lessons when I was 17, some more when I got to college, but I must have played hooky on some important days because I've always had a gap in my knowledge that kept me from progressing. That and my simply not practicing enough.

All things in due time, so, it seems my time has come :)

I recently moved to Athens, Greece (2009) from New York. I sold 2 of my favorite basses just before moving. Big mistake. I regret it all the time. I was lucky enough to buy back 1 of the 2 recently (not the original, but the same make and model) and have it shipped to me in Greece. I'm in the process of trying to buy the second, incidentally from someone here on the forum, which is how I found out about the forum in the first place.

Anway, it's good to be here. Thanks to all for the inspiration and more. I'm looking forward to living up to my full potential and, more importantly, having fun!
