New Highschool Upright Player

Hello everyone, I've been playing upright for 5ish years of my 16 year long life, studying with a player from the RI philharmonic. I'm attending Walnut Hill next year to play, but I still don't know with whom I will study. It's nice to have found a double bass forum with serious players, I've always looked for one. I started out on electric bass, then a year later came to upright. I don't get a chance to play electric nowadays, and I mostly play my upright. By the way, I play a kolstein fendt. Anyways, hey everyone!

Patrick

Welcome. I've been playing electric bass for 6 years and recently made the "switch" to upright. About a month ago actually.

Patrick,

It seems that I have answered every single topic that you have written on Talkbass!

Welcome. You will get asked eventually to fill out your profile (we all spend lots of time on other members' profiles..or at least I do!).

I guess that we will be seeing eachother around. Perhaps we will perform in the same section sometime soon?

Finally..how is that Kolstein Fendt treating you? I am looking for basses in that price range.

Alex

Sorry, I didn't see this post so I haven't responded to it. I'll get on the profile filling out right away. Anyways, I can't really compare the Fendt to anything because it was my first bass. I got it for a bar mitzvah, purchased by my dad, so I didn't go through the whole selection process. However, I love it, it has a great tone, and is crafted beautifully. Let me know when you come up to Boston, if I'm around, you can probably play it.
