Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Wilbur Thompson. I have been playing bass for 14 years now. I am a bassist living in Fort Mill, SC (ten minutes from Charlotte, NC). After God and my new wife and my family, playing bass is the most important thing to me. I am glad to be connected to like minded individuals. I am a loyal fender jazz bass player. I been playing four string exclusively, but may venture out to purchase a five string. I have a degree in music, but I am quickly discovering that having a degree doesn't make you any better than anyone else. I learned to play by ear first and then decided to get a degree in music. I am currently trying to retrain my ear to where it was before my degree. To anyone reading this, never underestimate the power of playing by ear. It can get you out of some otherwise sticky situations. Thank you all for listening. |
