 New member and aspiring bass/guitar builder ... honest opinion PLEASE

Hello,
I'm a new member and like the title say's aspiring guitar & bass builder. Would LOVE to get honest opinions please.
I have to admit my passion for music is greater than my skill. I have surrounded myself with music and I'm currently a brass and sometimes woodwind repair man. I got into the biz and owned my own shop with the intention of learning from a luthier that I was going to teach brass. Things didn't work out as he got offered a job with Martin. I played guitar and bass in high school so I do have knowledge of the instruments and I now find myself with the time to try it on my own.
I have been inspired by many builders like Valenti, Birdsong ... I could go on and on. I absolutely love what I see with the more personal builders with the different woods and finish's and there are so many great and different pick up builders out there. The possibilities seem endless and my background is on the art side so with that I have so many ideas in my head.
I'm rambling so here it is ... my question to you all is, is there room and interest or a market for another builder. Believe me my passion for music is greater than my skill like I said before but I am good with repair and I would like to think I could bring something to the table with building.
So let me say thanks in advance for any and all input you all have to offer ... good and bad.
