Hi all
I am from South Africa, been playing bass for 15 yrs. My skill level is that of someone who only picks up the bass when a gig comes up, which is pretty bad. I can hold a solid groove cos' I have very good timing. Due to recent cash outlays I now play a bit more, and practice at least 1 hr a day, scales and stuff to get the fingers sorted (It has helped a lot)
I generally only play in church bands, but the music can vary from classic rock, to heavy rock to rock ballads to me standing around wondering when I should fall in....
I have been browsing the forum for a while, mostly because I have ventured into building my own bass. Found lots of info here, and also like the general forum population.
The bass I am building is loosely based on a LTD F5E with an imbuia top and mahogany back....using trial pickups and hardware (Mighty Mite) for the intitial stages.
Looking forward to chatting with you all, and know I will learn a lot more here than I bargained for.... |
