Hey how is everyone?

I was told talkbass is a good place to get information about anything music.

So here's my question:
What's a nice, underground jazz club in Manhattan that I should check out?

When I say underground I mean, anything not as expensive as the bluenote

Thanks!

Thanks for the link.

I don't know where to post this question, or even if these forums are the best place, but, I wanted to know if anyone has advice for musicians that are interested in the music industry.

I'm 18 years old and will be living in Paris, France for a year. I'll be leaving in August, so that means I have a few months that I should dedicate to music to prepare for Paris. In Paris I'm hoping to meet other musicians in order to start a band and I also would like to make connections. Plus I'd like to meet producers because I want to record and produce my own stuff.

I'll be stuck in boring old Connecticut, but I'd like to make the most of it. I've already got some music plans besides from practicing. I'll be going to Montreal for a few days for their annual Jazz Festival and I'll be in Puerto Rico to visit family and hopefully I can meet some musicians there.

That's pretty much it. I'm hoping some of you users out there can give this musician some advice, perhaps about getting a start in the music industry (not necessarily a music icon or whatever, just a job or something), or about what to do without a band. I'm really open for anything.

I'm thinking of going to New York for a few days to check out the music scene, but I don't know where I could start. It'd be a waste if I don't have my sights aimed somewhere.

Thanks
