Hello Bassists!
My main instrument entering high school was the bass trombone, but thanks to a wonderful band director I expanded to include all low brass, percussion, and eventually learned to play the double bass. I got involved in a band and picked up the electric bass after high school, but then left it all behind me.
Fast forward about 23 years and I picked up an intermediate trombone for my 6th grader to play with full intent of playing it myself. I got involved in our church and had the promise of being in a praise and worship band so I also picked up a used Fender P-bass and amp to play.
I became involved with a community band out here on trombone which has led to me helping out area high school and civic/community theater groups' musicals with bass playing. They just rented a double bass for me to play for a musical and I signed on already for another so they are renting it for me for a little longer.
I'm hooked again on playing and I decided to look into getting a double bass of my own and found this forum. It's already saved me the trouble of buying a Planet Violin EUB and I hope to learn a lot more here.
