New member, string question

Hello,

I am glad to be here. I play guitar and learning to play Bass. I play guitar as a hobby; playing classic rock, blues and jazz. I just got my first Bass guitar, a Hofner icon bass, seems to be good; I am still exploring it. This came with cheap roundwounds I am planning to change to flatwounds. What gauge strings are best for these violin bass?
