I was looking for reviews on Peavey basses. Especially the T-40 and older furys. I found this forum in the process and have been visiting often. Finally registered.

Greetrings all!

Found this forum on Google; just went through every musicians worst nightmare, my HOUSE burned down with all my gear in it; lost my dog, my cat, 11 guitars/basses, 4 pianos, computers, effects pedals, amps, all charcoal! Looking for any donations from any kind souls who have ANYTHING they r not using. Having been on welfare since 2001 i was quite proud of my collection having scrimped and saved for each instrument except what was left to me by my Dad in his will; now starting my entire life over from scratch! Oh well, at least I got my solo album cover out of it... http://i40.tinypic.com/aoqp83.jpg Thank God all (well, most) of my music was backed up online or i would have comitted suicide

I found it by looking for "bass forums" too. I've been fooling around with the bass for a few months, and I was supposed to start lessons last week till that went pear-sided. Hopefully we'll get it sorted out this week.

I've got a lot to learn - I can't read music, I've only played around a bit on a piano when I was a kid, and I've never played guitar. But what I've done so far has been a lot of fun.

One of my goals is to be able to play a respectable bass line along with the majority of the Blues Brothers soundtrack.

Cool

A fellow bassist and longtime TB member subtly coerced me against my will to sign up by sending a link to talkbass.com to my email, the sneaky bugger. I resisted at first knowing the likelihood it would infiltrate my study time but now, I'm hopelessly hooked. lol.

Sorry it took so long to join up.

Question Howdy!

I found TB while searching for an acceptable replacement for my 20yr old Golden Spirals.

Other than the occasional stand-in gig I've been out of the game for quite awhile. Is there anything out there short of steel that gives the punch of 'spirals?

My bass-playing pen pal in Australia turned me on to it. He's always sending me photos of the next axe he wants to buy.
