I came looking/googling for info about the bass after discovering Level 42 did *not* use a sequencer for their basslines, lol ! I have been lurking off and on for a year or so, then I decided to get signed up.

Ran across Talkbass a few years back while researching gear, must've been through Google, Ask, or a link. Lurked quite a bit until recently....

Hi everyone-Im new here from CT and new to bass playing. but have played metal guitar for a while. I play a mixture of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden< Black sabbath, Scorpions etc. I'm a pretty good guitar player-not great, but could hold my own. I always wanted to play bass and just got one and learned a few songs. I really enjoyed it -a nice change from guitar.-I'm using a pick now but I'd appreicate any advice from anyone here.
Thanks

Thumbs up

I googled to see if there was any talk about the sugar bowl halftime show, Univ. of Alabama's Million Dollar Band has a 5 string player playing a Lakland.

Google. Searches for all kinds of things. Decided one day (oh, that'd be today) that I might as well join up and get in on the talk. With this crappy economy I've got nothing better to do with my time...

I was just surfing to find an online community for same minded purveyors of the low end.

BTW
I bought my first bass while in the Navy (G&L L5500 1995) and have been addicted since. My job doesn't allow me the time to play out live (I am on call 24/7) but I love getting together on weekends to have jams with friends.
