Hey, I'm Jak. I'm 16 and I've been playing for just under 2 years now. I am a pick bassist and I enjoy playing a mixture of styles, normally resting around the Metal area. I currently use a Yamaha RBX-375 with a Behringer Ultrabass BT108 Amp.

I'm trying to update my gear, but I'm unsure as to what to get. Which is why I came here, in an attempt to get professional information (or close to) as to what to look for when buying a bass for my particular style.

I'm generally an easy going guy, so don't expect any conflict from me and I'll help out where I can.

Hey Jak, moderators, and members my name is Jade Stolar and I've been playing bass for only six months BTW I'm totally blind and am learning to play by ear.

I play an ESP B50 LTD bass with SIT medium-light strings through a Fender Rumble 25 watt amp. This bass might be a good metal bass because it has the P and J style pickups making it very versital. I've played some metal songs on it and it sounded great.

Hey Jak, welcome to TB! You should get good advice in the Basses forum, if you haven't already.

Jade, welcome as well. Much respect to you for not letting obstacles get in your way! I know of at least one other player here who is blind, his username is LongHairedFreak. (I think I have that right.)
