Hi,
My name is Ross, I've been playing Bass for about 3 years. I started playing piano when I was six, because my mom wanted all of the kids to take lessons. I really, really wanted to play bass, but she convinced me that it was an "insterment you can't play by yourself... you'll get bored of it."
Fast forward to freshman year of college. After playing piano for almost 13 years, my college Christian Fellowship was graced with a very good piano player, but was looking for a bassist. My brother, a professional classical guitarist on weekends, gave me a beat up $75 yamaha acoustic guitar which I took two of the strings off and proceeded to use to learn technique. It was like being in heaven, I haddn't lost one bit of the fervor I felt for the insterment in all the years since I'd first wanted to play it. 3 months later, I played on stage for the first time, using a very low-end Ibanez the fellowship recieved as a donation.
A couple of years have passed, and I play all the time, but am still pretty new (I taught myself everything I know using videos I found online), and looking to be part of a community of more experienced players. Currently, I play a fretless 4 string warwick Rockbass, and love every minute of it. I'll be around!
