Hey. I picked up bass about 4 months ago... I've always liked it and really wanted to play in a band, etc. I'm currently in college as a music major. I don't really play any other instruments, so I'm way behind everyone in my theory classes who've played instruments since the age of like, 12, heh. I'm working on it though.

I've lurked Talkbass for a month or so now, and am just finally registering. I don't know if I'll have much to say, but I'll probably post asking for advice a couple hundred times, haha.

I recently bought a Squier Modified Vintage P-bass, after reading tons of positive reviews, so I play that. I like it, and every bassist I know has said it's a great guitar for 225 bucks, so.

Anyway, hi .

Let me officially welcome you to TB, a great place for information and opinions. Four months into it what do you think? Where you headed musically? You playing in a band other than the college thing. Do you play something else?

I'm pretty much in love. I've tried guitar and drums, and couldn't really get into either. I have a lot of fun with bass and can't wait to be in the band setting and writing my own stuff.

Musically I've always been a huge fan of the 90's... alt rock mainly. I like and would play pretty much anything though... rock, blues, country, post-hardcore, metal, pop, gospel, haha.

I definitely like this place so far. Been lurking for a couple months now... love the opinions and discussion.
