New to the upright bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I received an upright bass for my birthday, and I love it! We play old time/bluegrass/traditional music for contradances and small venues and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for an attached microphone for the double bass.

Thanks

Suggestions...

The semi-acoustic double bass I have has a Realistic piezo pickup that sits under the bass foot of the bridge--sounds good! Might be OK on yours. Another guy who plays rockabilly with a lot of slap puts another piezo under the fingerboard where it sits over the body to pick up the slap.

Have fun playing the upright!
