Hello everybody. I'm new to talkbass.com. I'm not necessarily a new Bassist though. I stumbled accidentally upon the Bass at age 16 as a Junior in High School. I was a Tuba player in the Band, and the Orchestra needed Bass players the next year. Since I was the first chair Tuba player, I got the opportunity to learn the Double Bass if I wanted to. That was my first introduction to the Bass 12 years ago, and I've loved it ever since.

I do have a small collection of Basses. I have an Ibanez 5-string Electric Bass, a Michael Kelly 5-string Acoustic/Electric Fretless Bass Guitar, an Englehardt ES9 "Swingmaster" Double Bass, and a VMI BBb Tuba.

I don't play the Ibanez electric Bass much anymore. I bought it back when I was in high school, because Electric is the only way to go at that age. I don't know if I outgrew that phase or what, but I really don't like Electric sound at all anymore. I think I've only plugged in my Michael Kelly twice just to see what it would do. I just like the natural Acoustic sound so much better.

I look forward to getting to know people and talking Bass.
