Newb with a question.

Hey all, been playin' bass for a year or two. Nothing too serious, in a few bands and trying out styles.
I have an Ibanez BTB400 and I've been thinking of getting a 5 string. In my local place, there's an Ibanez TRB15 from about '93, and I can find barely anything on the web. Can anyone give me a hand with telling me whether it's worth buying (it costs around £200)? Or just telling me ANYTHING about it?
Cheers

The bass is only worth the $$$ if its in good condition, check that the neck is straight and the electronics are clean.

Yeah, the guy fixed the truss rod before my eyes. I've played it quite a bit, and it's great, really light. I've got my eye on this, or a secondhand Schecter Hellraiser 5 in a shop in town.
Cheers swin

Hey bub,

Well here is my 2 cents, I have been playing for about 10 years now, I feel I have just reached that point in my playing where I am not considered a newb anymore, I know its been a while but its also probably mostly in my head. Well, when I was playing for about 3 years I as well got the "5 string itch" I was getting more confident and thought I'd give it a go, well I didn't and I couldn't be more happier, I love my four strings. I have picked one up from time to time and I just dont see a need for it. Thats not to say it's not for you, I just feel that a 4 string is really all you need, there is plenty to learn there on its own. But hell, what do I know, give it a go if its in your heart. Peace.
