Newbie-4 months-do i need a 5stringer?

Nice site.

I'm 50, haved loved the bass.... Started finally taking lessons after just looking at my 1st bass for 10 years. That was not smart. I have a nice Schecter C-4. And now i love the low "B". My wife said go get one-- but-- should i just concentrate on learning a 4 string (I have an ABG too)... after all Jaco used only 4 (or were 5'rs out then)?

Or should i grab one while my wife is being generous?
