John Cotten here, brand new TalkBass member, and very glad to be here. I
bassically joined because I have some questions about air travel with basses and amps, and being a bass-playing guitarist, I've learned that bass players are a lot more fun to talk with than drummers and others of the concussion section of the orchestra.
I'm really not much of a bass player (YET!), but I do read music and get to thump along with other musicians fairly regularly. I'm good enough to know that a solid bass player makes a tremendous difference in a group's sound. I'm looking to build some chops with help from my new friends here.
I probably will not be able to be very active on TB, though I mean no offense. It's just that I spend most of my online time over on the Acoustic Guitar Forum, and they don't let me out much. Some friends over there directed me here for more knowledgeable conversation when it comes to the low down.
I look forward to getting to know this community and enjoying learning as I go. If you ever need help over on the AGF, I'm "cotten" there, and would consider it an honor.
