Hi folks
Been a bass guitar player for about 25 years have been mucking about with a guitarist and drummer for the last year playing swing-type stuff. This has prompted me to buy a DB to see if I can actually play the thing.
I bought a Boosey and Hawkes 3/4 DB on ebay last week, it's about 30 years old apparently and needs some work (which I'm not afraid of, carpenter by trade). I know it needs a new bridge, I've ordered a non-adjustable one from Bob Goligher. I fully expect the soundpost to be loose and it will need a good clean up.
If it turns out that I CAN handle the beast, next project will be to fit a pickup. My current rig is a Trace Elliot GP12 1x15" combo, although we have a PA comprising Soundcraft 600W mixer and EV ZX5 speakers which I can DI from the Trace. Anybody got any experience of this kind of setup? Any hint or tips will be gratefully received!
Cheers
