You should make a video of "Kentucky Rain." That's a killer bassline in that song...

Welcome to TB!

I've never joined BassChat. I found this site first and looking over on some of the forums in the UK, I just don't think they can compete. Welcome from up north!

Welcome Rich.

You seem to have good taste in all things bass: the bongo, that Elvis performance....

I found that concert footage just recently on YouTube and I was just in awe at how great that performance sounded. That bassline caught my ear too!

I'm just getting started out on bass (at age 45!) and only hope that I can attain your level of play anytime in the near future. Welcome!

I joined Basschat a while back for the different perspective BC'ers have on things in general. Basschat members often exhibit a sense of irreverence in their generally insightful & articulate posts and tend to have a stronger overall focus on playing.

I like TalkBass--a lot , but it's not the only music forum to include in the daily competition to learn something tunefully new...

Compete how?

BC is certainly a lot smaller but its also a lot more localised and this makes it easier meeting up with members/sell and buying gear etc than TB is IME
Not knocking TB at all, but being mainly USA based it can become a bit distant if you want a chat about Uk gigs, shops, etc.

I do find its easier to get information here, but i also find i have more in common with people on BC. Maybe that's just me.

Thanks you. I think bass chat is great for buying and selling, as pointed out england is a wee place and its easy to do F2F deals. It also has some very cleaver people their, as this does. BUT it can be a touch snobby, and people have been known to mess up sales treads by thoughtless postings.
