Newbie from West Yorkshire in the UK Self confessed forum addict, I can see this forum ain't gonna help trying to wean myself off of them... oh well! :) Hi all, total noob here to the world of bass but please forgive me, I'm trying. I get a lot of spare time in between calls as an ambulance medic so hope to try and learn what I can, when I can away from the bass. Just had a look at a few Android apps that might help my learning curve (any recommendations greatly appreciated). A bit cheesy when it comes to inspirational Bassists but I like them so currently listening to people like Nate Mendel and Flea as well as watching lads of cover versions on YouTube of familiar tracks. I was taught piano from an early age and how to read music so have always had a musical ear and spot on timing. Sadly as a result of this, I can't sit at a piano and bang a tune out without music in front of me. I still own a Korg M1 tho and can't bare to part with it. I'm hoping I can find my niche with the bass and don't want to go down the 'too technical' route yet and end up where I have with the piano (if that makes sense?), I'll be quite happy playing covers. I'm hoping to document my bass journey on YouTube so come check out my channel at Whitegixerhd My chosen bass is a standard set up Yamaha RBX-270J |
