Hello nick

Noelito calling from Wales U.K. I play only double bass, mainly fingers but really like the sound of the bow.
What type of string do you go for?

Depends on the bass...

Hi Noelito
It depends completely on bass sound and set-up and I have tried a ton of different strings.
I currently use a mix of Flexocore (top three) and Pirastro Permenant (extended E) for my orchestral bass. Pirastro Flat Chromes for my solo bass(also regularly re-tuned as my wife's orchestra bass) and Spirocore Weichs for my jazz bass. I pray I never have to replace all at the same time!!
