Hello,
I just registered and thought about making myself some welcoming-topic
To start, my name is Nicky Hendriks (as you would say

), I live in a Dutch city called Nijmegen. I'm currently 16 years old and playing bass since I became 16 (since 07th of March 2011) on some bass secondhand I got from my dad. The only lessons I got wore from Studybass.com and as far as I am now I think it's good, however I'm planning to get some real lessons in a couple of months.
If I play with pick of finger-picking just depends on the speed and the song, if I'm playing something what's really being played with pick by the artist I get my pick, but if the speed gets too high I throw away the pick and play further with my fingers. Don't know the problem but playing with pick with some speed just sounds rubbish, but further on it goes fine.
Though I'm still playing for precisely 4 months now I think it's going well and I have a lot of hours playing bass at the moment, sometimes I play a couple of minutes and somes I play like the whole day. But the average is one of two hours a day. Except Sunday, that's my "Playing Bass-Day"
----
My musical incluences are all within metal, from industrial to NDH to Trash and some Folk-metal stuff, then metalcore and so on to plain Heavy Metal, and sometimes just some rock ('n roll) into it and there you have my musical styles. But to say, my biggest influence is and always was Metallica, and then especially Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted.. That are my biggest hero's on the bassguitar, then Steve Harris and then some others. I listen to a lot of bands, from Escape the Fate to Megadeth to Fear Factory, and even Volbeat, and lots more.

And now about myself, that's what this topic was all about right? As sad I'm Nicky Hendriks and I'm not going to repeat stuff. I just finished High School and now I'm going to the Chefs-school (with some management within). I don't have real hobby's except playing bass, I spent a lot of time on my computer but most of the time I'm busy with the bass.
And now the part that probably will scare you, or maybe not. What I'm trying to say, I suffer from ADHD and autism, something most of the people don't believe until it's time to take my medicines and when I explain what it really is.
And to complete the picture about me... Here's some picture of me with my old tuner and my old Fender strap (I have now some Ibanez)
Pictures of my gear are in the next message.
Greetings,
Nicky
