Noob in the deep end of the pool

I've been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to join. Looks like a great place for bass stuff. I play some keys, rhythm guitar, attempt to sing, etc. and recently started getting more serious about learning to play (proper) bass. Am into music recording technology and build some of my own gear (mic pres, compressors, etc.) as well as maintain and modify my amps/effects.

I really like the kinds of things that Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Mike Mills, Sir Paul, Entwistle, and Allen Whitman (The Mermen) bring to the party. Anyway, thanks for all the great info I've already gleaned from the lot of you while lurking!
