Howdy, my name's Brad and I've played bass for about 20 years now (!), I've got two custom 5 strings (fretted & fretless) made in Melbourne by the same guy. They're called Jaco's (bet you can't guess who they're named after ), and I've owned them for about 9-10 years now.

Here's a pic:

I've played in a few bands over the years, a death metal band in the early 90's followed by a heavy rock/hip hop/electronica/funk/fusion band in the mid - late 90's/early 00's. I'm currently playing in a kinda prog-rock/metal band but maybe changing again shortly to something either heavier or funkier.

I look forward to hanging out on here and picking the brains some of you kind bass playing folk.

Welcome. It's not that we ignore new people, it's that the only time we really see the thread is when it shows up in the "New Posts" and threads get bumped down in that pretty fast as this is a fairly busy forum. I don't know of many people that actually check the "New Member Intro" section. Yes, but welcome anyways. And nice basses. Is "Jaco" what you named them or what the luthier that makes them calls the basses he makes?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Yep the luthier that made my basses called them "Jacos" as he's a mad Jaco fan.
