Hello to all 80,000 bass players out there on TB!
I'm Doug Ross, and I've actually been dropping in on Talkbass for several years now, but was just too shy (or lazy!) to formally introduce myself before.
Some of you may already know me from my website,
www.dougross.net or from my various bass adventures around the globe. I've been playing bass freelance for a quarter century, with everyone from Martha Reeves to Gregg Bissonette. I also teach bass privately and at L.A. Music Academy. I used to head the bass program at Fukuoka School of Music in Japan. Most recently, I have struck out on my own as a leader and released a solo album. Anyone who likes to look at pictures of pretty basses (don't we all?) might enjoy visiting my website.
Well, I guess that's a good start. I'd love to hear from any of you, and I'll try to speak up more often from now on!
