octave pedals

Got a bit of holiday cash to spend so I thought I'd get an octave pedal. Y'see, I play in a reggae/ska outfit and we recently finished a recording. On that album, on a couple of the rootsier numbers, the guitarist doubled up the bass line - sounded great - and I want to emulate that sound live, when the guitarist is too busy doing other crap to double up my lines. So I thought an octave pedal would do the trick, but from my scant research so far, octave pedals for bass only seem to play an octave or two below the note you're playing.

Is there a pedal that would play an octave or two above the note I'm playing?

Thanks
