Hello Everybody,

Brand new to TalkBass.com and to playing bass. Well, not exactly to playing bass. I had a roomate who was a quite good bassist and let me "play around" on his Ric. Unfortunately, I am VERY left handed, and a right handed instrument just didn't work.

I've run sound for bands, played piano and picked up a left-handed guitar about 4 years ago. But never quite felt "into it". Recently, as in today, bought an inexpensive accoustic/electric lefty bass. Now that's an oxymoron, "inexpensive lefty acc/elc bass" but have already started learning scales on different points of the neck. This is COOL! Actually had to stop, 4hrs on and fingers getting really sore. Wanted an acc/elc 'cause I go camping some w/ other musicians and we always have an abundance of six-string players and even folks on various drum/percussion instruments, but rarely a bass player. Now I have found a niche! Wait, That means no breaks. OMG, what have I gotten myself into!

Looking forward to talking w/ all you cool bass people who KNOW that the bass really brings the sound together.

Anyhoo, just wanted to give a big HI to everyone.
