I was tired of seeing this:
Hello AlembicBill,

Don't be shy
So, here goes...
I've been playing bass for three dozen years. I started, as many bassists do, because "the band" had a guitarist and a drummer, but needed a bass player. Jack Casady was my role model. I studied with a local guy for a couple of years, then moved on to his teacher, a big-time jazz cat, who introduced me to the string bass, and several phenomenal musicians. I attempted to play full-time, but I enjoyed eating on a daily basis, so I took a 9-5 job and played every chance I could. I've maintained that attitude every since: always gigging with multiple bands (covers, originals, all genres). The rest is (or will be) history.
Bill
P.S. Let the records show that I have now posted to your site.
