Hi folks, came across this site a little while ago and just decided to register.Lots of great info here.
As the thread suggests I am new to this music thing. 48 is rather late to begin learning guitar. My brother suggested to me one day about borrowing his bass (now mine) and learning so we could jam together. Well I did that and got bitten by the bug big time.We play together everyweek and have a ball.Ended up buying an acoustic guitar and lately a Telecaster as well. We dont intend gigging or anything it is purely for our own enjoyment.
Got to learn a bit about electrics by pulling out the cheapo pups & electrics from my bass and replacing them with much nicer quality components as well as a better nut. What a difference to the tone of my cheap bass that made. Highly recommend doing that to any newbies as a great way to really understand the makeup of your own guitars.
Now I just need to practice as much as possible.
Cheers.
