I just registered here but have been reading and learning from everybody for quite a while.
I'm 60 now and have been playing bass since 1966, mostly Fender P-bass. I bought a used Kay S-9 (blond) back in the 1970s but have only used it occasionally for informal unplugged jam sessions, etc.
Finally last summer I ordered a K&K rockabilly pickup set for it and new strings (WeedWackers - yes I know...) and have started using it onstage with a rockabilly oldies trio. Wow, what fun! About time I put this big boy to work.
Hope to get more involved with the furums now. I look forward to finding our more about what I'm doing - or not doing - from other old players. Especially converts from BG to URP.
