Hello bassists, I am an extreme novice and have just picked up my bass again after a couple of years break owing to injury from over enthusiastic practice.

Have never been able to crack holding the bow (I was attempting to use French bow technique) and finally made my arm and shoulder so bad i couldn't play bass, piano, or anything else. Not keen to repeat this experience, and want to watch videos and look at pictures to try to get it right. Just wondered if anyone could recommend any resources online. I'd especially like to hear from any other not-very-beefy female players who may have encountered and overcome the same problem.

( Yes, I could get another teacher, but plainly the teachers I had before didn't put me on the right track, so I want to take a new approach and take it really slowly without any pressure to practice too much.)

All help very much appreciated!
