Passive DI + Phantom Power?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey friends,

I have a question... I own a passive DI-box that I use with my electric guitar and acoustic bass (it has a pre-amp).

The thing is that yesterday I thought about pressing the phantom power button on my mixer and I was thinking that it would do nothing like it happens when you are using a dynamic mic...but, the sound changed a lot!

Is this a common thing to do or my DI transformer is going to blow in a few days?

Thanks

I have never seen a passive DI that was affected by phantom power. Which DI was it?
