Hello. I'm Jsn. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a 1971 Fender Jazz Bass that I've played off and on for several years now, and a 1938 Kay upright that I've only strung up recently.
I bought the Kay at a yard sale, for $50 (it had been painted black and covered with stickers). The fellow I bought it from said he was about to turn it into a planter. I've had fun stripping off the paint and getting it back into playing shape, and now I'm learning both pizz and arco (I've found I prefer a German bow).
Boy, the electric and the upright sure are different instruments. I really enjoy them both. Also enjoying being a beginner all over again.
