Hey gang! You've got the professor here from KY. Just wanted to intro myself.....I played tuba all through college and have always regretted never learning the bass. I just bought an ESP LTD F-5E beautiful 5-string bass and a somewhat decent Gallien-Krueger Brat Pack Half-Stack Bass Amp package (125w/15") to get me started. I spent 20 yrs active duty Army and retired in 2004 (am a government civilian now). I love the sound of slap bassists such as Vic Wooten, Mark King, Les Claypool, and Flea. I enjoy everything from big band (I can't wait to learn how to play a killer walking bass lick) to ultra-heavy (like Five Finger Death Punch and Cavalera Conspiracy).

I can't wait to get involved here and learn how to play my axe. Thanks!

Howdy.

Another ex-Army guy from KY here. Bass guitar is a great instrument to learn. Enjoy the journey.
