Like many of the other newbies, I've been quietly lurking in the forums and their archives for a few months.
I'm new to the bass world.
I started playing bass guitar this summer as a way stop being a music leech (eventually you gotta contribute something, i guess). I got started on a borrowed Spector Legend Classic jamming some metal riffs with friends. I played a guy's 5-string warwick and eventually bought one for myself. Now we have a 5 song set pretty well pieced together (still looking for a vocalist), and now I need to start piecing together a real rig.
Searching for gear reviews led me to Talkbass, and now I'm official I guess.
I'm looking forward to getting involved in the discussions. And now that I've found myself in the endless GAS fueled labyrinth of simultaneous hope(look at all the stuff!) and despair(why won't my bank account grow faster?), I'm sure I'll be frequenting the classifieds as much as my meager wages allow.
