Hi, kneesknows & welcome to TB. Questions concerning the value of a bass, amp, etc are tricky; asking the value of something you intend to sell is forbidden by TB rules as it basically constitutes a for sale ad- UNLESS you donate $20/year or more & become a *supporting member* after which you are free to post whatever you want FS.
Your initial post leads me to believe you are considering a purchase, in which case it may be alright to seek advice here in determining a value. I am no expert, though. I'd guess between $250 & $500 depending on actual condition.

mij squier p-bass short scale

Thanks, Yes I can pick one up for $165.00 with gig bag. I was just wondering if there is a demand for the med scale. Also if a hard shell case can be purchased for the med scale bass. are these med scale squire collectable ?

There are some of us that like medium scale basses, which are somewhat rare. I paid about $120-150 for my MIJ Squier a couple of years ago. Medium Scale cases are hard to find. Good Luck!
