Thinking about playing again....

Hi everybody. I played bass for 18 years. Traveling bands, local bands, you name it. Big record deal fell through and I quit playing. Haven't played for 12 years! Now I'm 46 and thinking about playing upright bass instead of electric this time. Looking for a teacher and a upright bass here in Nashville. I wonder how long it will take before I can at least be proficient on a upright?

I'm 42, and played bass for 16 years professionally. Lived in Nashville in the mid 90's, had a record deal w/ Giant records, tour bus and the whole bit. Our deal fell through as well. Happens a lot! I was frustrated with the music biz in general and tired of the road so I moved back to the NW with my girl (Now wife of 15 yrs). Three kids later and much success in the real estate biz, I'm itching to play again and thinking of relocating back to Nashville LOL! I guess it never really leaves the sole when your lucky enough to experience what a groove feels like!!
