Hi, I'm Doug, I'm 18, I've been playing bass for almost 4 years now but I've played saxaphone for almost 8, i've been creeping around on this forum for a while and finally decided to make a post. Hopefully I can use this forum to become a better bass player and even more so, a better musician. I'm from the south florida area, currently looking to start a band with some friends and become a better bassist through it. Some of my favorite bassists are Rocco Prestia, Flea, Noel Redding, Justin Chancellor, John Paul Jones, and Les Claypool. Nice to meet ya'll

My name is David from San Francisco, and I'm also originally a saxophone player. While I've been a horn player for over 35 years, for the past couple of years I've taken up the bass, playing both jazz as well as rock and free form jamming. I've been loving it, and it's been a a pretty amazing journey to experience music from the 'other side' - if the horn player stops, it's the end of your solo, but if the bass stops, the song crashes and burns. I've been studying with an excellent teacher who used to play with Ronnie Montrose and Robin Trower and I'm here to learn more about playing and equipment and join the greater Bass Playing Community...
