Well -- this site doesn't want you lurking for long does it? ;-)

As the banner up top directed me to make my first post, I thought I might as well.

I'm a late 20s musician from Ottawa, Ontario. I've been playing guitar for 14 years, piano for 20, and have been playing the bass for oh, about a month.

I joined a band and our bass player dropped out because the sound wasn't quite what he was going for in a band. So we looked for a few weeks without finding anybody that was reliable AND suited our style of music. So we rented a bass, an amp, and decided to try going as a three piece. Well, I found my calling. Thumping along in the rhythm section is what I was made for, and I'm trying not to be one of those guys who you can tell right away started on guitar (although I will inevitably show those traits, I don't want to make it too obvious).

I ditched the rental behringer ultrabass amp, and picked up an Eden WT-400 with an Eden d210XST cab. Thing sounds awesome. Now it's time to ditch the cheap ibanez rental bass and move up to something better. This forum has helped out already, as I've picked up a nice 5 string off the for sale section, and I can't wait until it gets here.
